Closet Clean: What To Toss, What To Add

Spring is here, so let’s recalibrate your gear. You don’t have to get all cuckoo, but now is the perfect time to let go of those items that feel less than fabulous. Swap out winter blahs for these new sexy shapes, fuzzy slides, and foxy florals. Because if you plant the seeds for a new look, you never know what you’ll cultivate.
Here are the trends that have me in full bloom.

Trade your turtleneck for a cutout sweater:
Hello, sexy shoulder showcase. The sun is shining, and so will you in these knit options. Add wide-leg pants, shades, and some swagger, and prepare for your next spring fling.
Scrap your basic off-the-shoulder for one with drawstring details/ ruching:
Add a little whimsy to the off-the-shoulder we’ve come to know and love, and you’ll be a breath of fresh air personified. Delicate details make all the difference. Seductive with ripped jeans, flirty with shorts, feminine, always.
Forever 21 Off-The-Shoulder Poplin Top ($28)
Bebe Ruffle Blouson Sleeve Top ($79)
Intermix Constas Artemis Striped Off Shoulder Bustier Top ($395)
Lose the leggings and opt for utility-chic khakis:
Yes. It’s a thing. Khakis that bow down at the altar of function and fashion. These pants are the perfect neutral to combine with everything from neon brights to an off white sweater. Opt for an on-trend, wide-leg, cropped style, add a pump or a platform wedge and this twist on hyper-preppy can be hyper-pretty.
H&M Chinos ($25)
Banana Republic Heritage Double- Pleat Crop Pant ($120)
The Row Lado Cotton-Blend Wide-Leg Chinos ($1390)
Let go of fur-lined boots (yes, your Uggs) and find some fuzzy slides:
Paradox for the vernal equinox? Meet fuzzy slides, the sandal splurge that’s stealing the show this spring. Spa street style is on, ladies. So go casual with some track pants or pair with a denim skirt and and printed duster for authentic glam.
Forever 21 Faux Fur Slides in Fuchsia ($18)
UO Faux Fur Pool Slides ($15)
Miu Miu Embellished Faux Fur Slipper ($950)
Dump the LBD for a chiffon floral:
Retire the little black dress, because everything’s coming up roses in these lovelies. Soft florals and soft fabrics are hard to look away from, so go ahead, come undone. Keep hair soft to avoid feeling too Little House on the Prairie-esque. The birds and the bees have nothing on you this season.
Forever 21 Contemporary Floral Maxi Dress ($28)
Topshop Floral Ruffle Maxi ($125)
Nicholas Poppy Floral Off-the-Shoulder Silk Mini Dress ($595)
