Faith Evans Unveils Cover for Notorious B.I.G. Duets Album ‘The King & I’
As the music world celebrates The Notorious B.I.G. on the 20th anniversary of his passing, Faith Evans reveals the cover for her long-awaited Biggie duets album, The King & I.
Dressed in all black, Faith poses confidently on the cover. She has one hand resting on her waist, as she stands in front of a mural of her late husband. The black-and-white photo is accentuated by gold graffiti and lettering.
The King & I blends Faith’s vocals with vaulted and previously-released Frank White verses. So far, the R&B songstress has released two singles from the effort: “NYC” featuring Jadakiss and “When We Party” with Snoop Dogg.
The album is also set to feature the highly-anticipated collaboration between Faith, Big, and Lil’ Kim, as well as interludes by Christopher Wallace’s mother, Voletta.
“I remember telling Ms. Wallace years ago that one day it would be really dope if I could do something similar to Natalie & Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable,” said Evans. “Knowing the love that B.I.G. had for Tyanna & Ceejay, I feel it’s my duty to uphold & extend his legacy, especially his musical contributions. This project is my creative reflection of the love we had & the bond we will always have. I’m elated to share this musical journey with our fans!”
Due May 19, just two days before B.I.G.’s birthday, The King & I is also set to feature Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Cease, Sheek Louch, and Styles P.
Faith isn’t the only one celebrating Biggie today. Honoring the 20th anniversary of his passing, Diddy recalled his first meeting with B.I.G. while friends like Lil’ Cease shared thoughts on Instagram.
“The Greatest 20 Years Later,” wrote Cease. “Love You BIG!! Miss You Bro… #RipBig.”
